Everything in our distillery has either been built from scratch or salvaged from the workshops or repurposed from a previous life. Our copper stills are original old hot water copper geysers that have been lovingly restored to glory and crafted into works of art. 

Our serving counter was salvaged from the original Sidecar Caffe located on Glengariff Rd, Sea Point and polished up & resized. The tasting room seats are re-fashioned sidecar pillion seats. There’s an antique Chinese medicine chest of drawers that was shipped out from China with a consignment of sidecars many years ago that is now being used to store all the herbs, spices & botanicals for our magic potions.. The uniqueness, originality & passion shown in the décor is reflected in the superb flavours and styles of our stable of products.

We make sure our tasting sessions are fun & informative. Sessions are varied & no two sessions are the same. Tasting sessions on the day includes a selection from our standard range and we also then add on whatever specialities are being bottled on the day. Tasting sessions can be booked in advance (info@sidecarspirits.co.za), or, if you’re lucky enough to have booked a sidecar trip, you can choose to start or finish your trip with a complimentary tasting session at the distillery.
