Smoky Mountain Brandy

With an abundance of both red & white grapes from the Cape Winelands on the doorstep of greater Cape Town, it is only natural for Sidecar Caffe Distillery to take advantage of this and make brandy in our own handmade copper stills and then aged in French Oak vats to achieve a superb colour and smokey flavour. A mix of red & white grape varietals allows our small batch brandies to acquire an exceptionally unique palate. Aged for 3 years, try it in black coffee, it is simply ‘pure plaas’ (Pure farm style)!! Amazing vanilla flavours are the most prominent in this multi-layered masterpiece.

The making of Cape Brandies are a tradition of the Cape Winelands over the last three centuries. Our name Smokey Mountain Brandy relates to the fact that our very first batch of brandy was made at the same time as a huge bush fire was raging on our beloved Table Mountain and Devils Peak and our distillery, located at the foot of Devils Peak, was covered in smoke for a few days. We like to think that one can taste a little bit of infused smokey Table Mountain in our unique brandy!
